Accessibility Statement
Last updated: January 1, 2025. Now & Next is committed to making our content accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We define accessibility as enabling every user – regardless of vision, hearing, motor or cognitive ability – to perceive and navigate our site. For example, we provide descriptive alternative text for images and captions for videos whenever possible (so that screen-reader users can understand visual content), and we organize content with clear headings and lists for easy navigation. We follow current best practices (such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1 Level AA) wherever feasible. Our goal is to remove barriers to information, in the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In fact, U.S. ADA guidance notes that inaccessible websites can deny people with disabilities equal access to services, and the Department of Justice has taken the position that ADA requirements apply to online offerings. We take these principles seriously, but we make no legally binding guarantee of full compliance.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Now & Next values inclusivity. We strive to write and structure our content in simple, user-friendly language. This means avoiding technical jargon and explaining things plainly, so all readers can understand our information. We work to meet recognized accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.1 AA) to the extent possible. At a minimum, our statement clearly affirms our commitment to accessibility and provides contact information for help, as recommended by accessibility experts. We do not claim perfect conformance – instead, we honestly acknowledge current limitations and outline our ongoing efforts.
• Standards and Practices: We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set by the W3C. (Accessible.org notes that WCAG guidelines are voluntary standards under ADA Title III.) In practice, this means we use semantic HTML for proper heading structure, ensure sufficient color contrast, and include alt text for meaningful images. We also avoid obstacles like tiny text or flashing animations that can impede users with impairments. For example, all images on our site include descriptive alt text when possible, so that visitors using screen readers can hear what the images depict .
• Known Limitations: Because our blog is built on standard Wix templates without additional accessibility plugins, some features may not yet meet every guideline. For instance, some pages might be missing alternative text on certain images, and not all multimedia currently has captions or transcripts. We may not have implemented every recommended accessibility widget (like a “skip to content” link) or fully tested all third-party embeds for keyboard navigation. We are aware that these issues can inconvenience users, and we list them here to avoid frustration. Including known limitations in our statement is advised by W3C so users know what to expect.
• Ongoing Improvement: We view accessibility as an ongoing process. We regularly review our site’s content and design to find and fix barriers. Future updates will include adding missing alt text, improving color contrast as needed, and providing captions or transcripts for any video or audio content we publish. We plan to use tools (such as the Wix Accessibility Wizard or manual testing with assistive technologies) to identify issues. Our team stays informed about best practices and will update the site accordingly. (Wix guidance encourages noting any accessibility tools or guidelines used, and we will mention them here as we implement them.) In short, we are continually working to make Now & Next more accessible over time.
